Obscure Film Week!

Now that I'm back from Florida, and the vacation days are over, I'm back home where I can finally father my thoughts together.

Since the last time it was a wonderful world of Disney - "Blackbeard's Ghost", I think I'll go animation route this time around.

For some reason the last few movies I've reviewed have all been on YouTube. This one is no exception.

This movie is based off of a comic strip in Japan.

It follows Nemo, a little boy with a big imagination. It follows him as he journeys into the land of Slumberland. There he is to be crowned King.

However, coming with the title of King comes a bigger responsibility:

Holding the key to a massive door that keeps back the darkness.

The door is never to be opened.

Yet when it finally does open, the darkness inside is let loose upon the land of Slumberland. No one is safe from the nightmares that have been unleashed upon the world. The old King has been taken and soon others are following.

Nemo sets off on a quest to free the king and taken back the kingdom of Slumberland for the dream realm again. The task isn't easy. With a few friends along the way, using his trusty bed as transportation, he fights alongside the princess, his tutor, a round about, and some friendly goblins along the way.

Join Nemo as he regains control of the Slumberland and makes it home in time for breakfast.

I hope you enjoyed this review. If there's a movie you think I should review for next month, please leave a comment below.

Today I spent a few hours walking around Epcot. Here's a few pictures. Hardly any of food.

One park down. One to go.

OMD - Blackbeard's Ghost

Walt Disney.

Back in the day they had come amazing, original movies come out. Some of the live-action ones were sadly forgotten by everyone. Others received the "Remake" treatment; losing their originality and wonder.

I will gladly admit that when the release of the release of "The Curse of the Black Pearl" came out I was on the pirate bandwagon all the way. I went to the library and checked out every book on pirates I could get my hands on. By the end of the school year (not telling which), I was an expert on the subject of pirates and all the rowdiness they stood for.

Suffice it to say: Disney's pirates were 300000000% nicer and tamer than the pirates of Golden Age. Honestly! Back in the day pirates were feared for more than just taking your gold and silver. And the worst of the worst was Edward Teach, otherwise known as Blackbeard.

Which segues into my Obscure Movie -

Growing up this was one of my favorite movies. It had snarky humor, cool costumes, an AMAZING bed and breakfast that I want to buy and live in for the rest of my life, and pirates.

Oh. And a Pirate's Curse.

What more could you ask for in a movie?

Follow the misadventures of a track coach who comes into town and accidentally unleashes the ghost of Blackbeard.

With clean humor, fun puns, and the stereotypical film of it's time, this movie is excellent for anyone with kids.

Oh. And did I mention - a great Halloween flick?

Check it out on YouTube, or Netflix.
